Minutes from a Town meeting on 6/29/2011.

Lapel Community Association

President Herschel Hinkle called the meeting to order in the library at the Lapel Elementary School.

Members present: Nancy and Herschel Hinkle, Pam Shuck, Joyce and Ron Nunley, Carol and Jim Young, Lou and Neal Whisman, Linda Hormell, Barb White, Margo Sink, Connie Sears, Doug Rich, Mark Seib, Lynn Upton, Cherie and Jim Myers, Linda Grimm, Daniel Paull and Donna Lawther.

Jim Myers made a motion to accept the minutes of the June 1, 2011 meeting as presented. Lou Whisman gave the second and the motion was unanimously approved.

Village Fair

Pam Shuck presented an invoice for additional trash stands. Lynn Upton made a motion to accept the invoice for payment in full. Margo Sink gave the second and the motion was unanimously approved.

Amanda Mattlock from the Times-Post was in attendance. An article on the VF will be in the next edition of the Times-Post.

The T-shirts will sell for $10 (S thru XL) and $12 (2X and 3X). They are yellow with the outline of Indiana across the front and Lapel Indiana in burgundy. Our logo will be in burgundy on the back of the shirt.

Pottery (scalloped edge saucer) will sell for $12.

Neal Whisman has upgraded the electricity on the pole behind the library for our use.

Dr Wright, grand mashal of 2011 parade, has requested that Dr. Mark Seib be his driver in the parade. Line up for the parade is 2:30 at the Middle School with the parade starting at 3:30pm.

Noodle dinner price $8 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and 5 and under free.

The Masons and Youth Commission will provide the desserts and LCA members will provide the chicken and the broth. Serving 4:30 to 7:00pm.

Connie Sears requested a donation of $100 be made to the Hamilton County Fallen Firefighters Memorial. They are loaning a 10ft steal beam, from the Twin Towers in New York City, to be on display and also be in the parade. Mark Seib made a motion to make a $100 donation. Lou Whisman gave the second and the motion was unanimously approved.

Bob Kowalski will work security for us on Friday and Saturday night at $100 a night.

Trash service is being doanted by Waste Management.

Barb White asked the LCA to make a donation to the Community Unity event. Margo made a motion to donate $100 to the Community Unity event. Carol Young gave the second and the motion was unanimously approved.

Ron Nunley made a motion for the LCA to pay $400 to the Lapel High School Bulldog Partners in Athletics again this year. Nancy Hinkle gave the second and the motion was unanimously approved.

Jim Myers made a motion for the LCA to work at the State Fair Dary Bar again this year. Ron Nunley gave the second and the motion was approved. Friday, August 19th is the day we will work the dairy bar from 9am until 7pm. We are required to have 28 adults working and will be paid $80 for each person.

Next meeting will be August 3, 2011 at the Lapel Elementary School.
