In person attendance included Gary Shuck, Matt Wood, Teresa Retherford, Angie Callaway, Jeff Keith, Paula Lee, Corrie Meyer (Innovative Planning), & Kourtney Krabbe. Attending virtually was Town Attorney Shanna Kelly.
Matt Wood asked for a grammar error to be corrected in the October 14th meeting minutes. A motion to approve meeting minutes from October 14th with the added correction was made by Keith, 2nd by Retherford; all voted yes except Shuck who abstained.
The following permits were presented to the board:
Permit 2630 for Electrical (solar panels)
Permit 2631 for Roof & siding
Permit 2632 for Roof
Permit 2633 for Demolition
A motion to approve building permits 2630 – 2633 was made by Retherford, 2nd by Keith; all voted yes.
At this time Shuck suspended the regular meeting & opened the public hearing for Lapel Permit Fee Schedule. There was no comment from the public either in person or online. A brief discussion was held amongst the board regarding pricing for solar panels for individual use & solar farms. Discussion however was tabled until further information was provided. At this time Shuck closed the public hearing & reopened the regularly scheduled meeting.
A motion to send the revised permit fee schedule to the Lapel Town Council with a favorable recommendation was made by Shuck, 2nd by Callaway; all voted yes.
Corrie Meyer with Innovative Planning gave a presentation over the updates she had made to the zoning codes. So far she has been able to thin the book from 800 pages to 200 pages. A “Downtown Overlay Zone” has been added, & charts for developmental standards in each district. These revisions have not yet been approved as a public input meeting & public hearing are required first.
Being nothing further to discuss meeting was adjourned.
