January 13, 2022 @ 6:30pm

Lapel Eagles

Attending tonight’s meeting in person was Paula Lee, Teresa Retherford, Matt Wood, Jeff Keith, Angie Callaway, & Kourtney Krabbe. Attending the meeting virtually was Corrie Meyer with Innovative Planning, and Town Attorney Shanna Kelly. The public could attend tonight’s meeting either in public at the Lapel Eagles, or using the virtual GoTo Meeting link provided on the Town of Lapel’s Facebook Page.

Election of Officers: A motion to nominate Jeff Keith as Planning Commission President was made by Lee, 2nd by Retherford; all voted yes.

A motion to nominate Dan Paddock as Planning Commission Vice President was made by Keith, 2nd by Wood; all voted yes.

A motion to nominate Kourtney Krabbe as Planning Commission Secretary was made by Lee, 2nd by Retherford; all voted yes.

It was decided to continue to hold the Planning Commission meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30pm at the Lapel Eagles. We will continue to offer a virtual option to each meeting as well.

Meeting minutes: A motion to approve December 9, 2021 meeting minutes was made by Wood, 2nd by Callaway; all voted yes.

Building Permits: A motion to approve building permits 2638 – 2643 was made by Callaway, 2nd by Lee; all voted yes.

Innovative Planning: Corrie Meyer provided the board with three options for Planning Commission workshops. Option A would have the workshops take place over the next couple of months, and ending by August. Option B would end by June & Option C would end by May. The quicker the month time line would most likely cause each meeting to last longer due to trying to pack more information into a meeting. The board decided to go with Option A. Each workshop will take place at the end of each meeting agenda.

New Business: James Riffey at 6853 S SR 13 had questions regarding potential rezoning along SR 13.

The Planning Commission has a vacant seat & is in need of a member. Greg Valentine & Brian Robertson have both expressed interest in being on the board. Shanna Kelly is going to verify the board does not have to meet a certain political status before the Planning Commission recommends a member.

Being nothing further to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
